PRAYER TO ACHIEVE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT - 2

Cardinal Manning

"God the Holy Spirit, whom so often saddened, who from my childhood until now often resisted, fill me with awe by your person, your essence, your presence and your power. Do you know the grace of your seven gifts: the gift of intelligence, and science, the gift of counsel and might, the gift of wisdom and compassion and the gift of fear of God.

You are the love between Father and Son. Batizais with fire and shed the love in the hearts: infuse your love in my heart. Only one thing I ask of God; not wealth, or well being, not power, not fleeting joys or temporal goods. What I want is just a spark of your divine fire, to be completely scorched in the flames of God's love.

"May this holy fire cleanse me from all spots of the body and soul."Fill me with your sevenfold gift. Accept me as a nice victim. Infalmai me zeal me there-repentance in order to live and die as fervent penitent. Amen!". ( 1 )

A. BIGCUORE´S REFLECTION (*): God is a Trinitarian community of love. Creator Father, Son Jesus Christ, the Redeemer, the "logos", the Incarnate Word and the Holy Spirit, Sanctifier, the Paraclete promised by the Father.

Every human being after baptism, we are introduced to the soul the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the 12 fruits of the same Spirit. Unfortunately, in life, many baptized "lock" these talents within themselves, not making them sprout for the community. They are like that hibernating inside. But they are there, though locked in the heart.

It is imperative, there is a revival of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit blows where it wills, says the Master Jesus. He RENEWS all our strength; gives us courage, mood, mental, physical and emotional, to continue to fight for the ideals of the Gospel and also for our materials projects. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus walks with us. It is he who continues to lead his Church, still a pilgrim on this earth.

In the Gospel of John, chapter 20, verses 19-23, we read: "In the afternoon of that same day, the first of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the among them, he said: "PEACE BE WITH yOU!". Having said this he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples then were filled with joy at seeing the Lord. He told them again, "Peace be with you! As the Father sent me, I also send you. "

Having said this, he breathed on them and said to them: Receive ye the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; those which retain, be they are retained. " (Biblia Jerusalem, pages 2,038 / 39, Paulus Publisher). (Italics mine).

By the text, the creation is characterized by Jesus, the Sacrament of Confession or Reconciliation, in which the priest (in Catholicism) has the power given by the Master Jesus, for the absolution of sins or their retention.

The breath and breathing represent signs of life, both physical and spiritual. Jesus this gesture, left the SIGNAL, the fire of your Holy Spirit, so that the disciples could lose the fear and GO their evangelizing work. And in times of today, we Christians, by Baptism, we received this BLOW of the Holy Spirit for strength and skills to continue the work of evangelization begun by Jesus.

He is the consuming fire of our hearts !. That ignites and propels us to holiness and sharing the gifts of the Kingdom of God, with our brothers, especially those who are far from God's love.God bless you, my brothers and sisters! Health, peace and joy in your hearts and the Holy Spirit, continue to take charge and rule their hearts! Amen!
