WHY THE SINS CONFESS?

Antoni BigCuore*

(Sp.sp. 4/16/2010, 6 Friday at 15.27 hrs.)Many people, even our evangelical brothers, say they confess directly to God. But the majority ignores the biblical basis of confession of sins.

Take it in the Gospel according to St. Matthew, chapter 16, verses 16-19, for word: "Simon Peter replied," You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. " Jesus said, "Are you happy, Simon son of Jonah, because it was not a human being who told him this, but my Father in heaven. So I say: "You are Peter and upon this rock I will build MY CHURCH, and the power of death can never conquer it. I'll give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and what you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. " (My italics).

Note well, my brother and sister in Christ, Jesus did not say my church, He said: MY CHURCH, ie, the ONLY church founded by him, is the continuer of the apostles, whose head was the first disciple PEDRO !. The text is clear, and the MANDATE that Jesus gives his disciples, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. That is, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, which has existed for over 2,000 years, is right to introduce a confession made by his priests legitimately constituted by Christ!

Take, to strengthen our arguments, in John's Gospel, chapter 20, verses 21-23: "Jesus said to them the new" Peace be with you. As the Father sent me, so I send you. " Having said this, Jesus breathed on them, saying, "Receive the Holy Spirit. The sins of those you forgive will be forgiven. The sins of those that you do not forgive, will not be forgiven. "

Text clear lens! Brighter than this, impossible! Only those who do not really want to understand, or pretends to be deaf and dumb in the face of biblical truth! When the priest legitimately constituted by the Catholic Church, performs confessions of the faithful, presides over the celebration of the Eucharist, he is acting 'In Persona Christi ", ie, in the person of Christ. It is as if Christ himself were there instead. Therefore, with authority to enter into such ministries!.Of course, forgives sins, not the priest, but God! However, this does not invalidate the authority of a minister of God.He has the POWER OF ATTORNEY given by Jesus himself! We have our free will to choose! But the biblical foundation is clear, as we saw above. To illustrate, let's see what Paul tells us in his second letter to the Corinthians, chapter 17 20: "If anyone is in Christ, is a new creature. Old things passed away, behold a new reality appeared. All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. "(1)The choice is yours my brother and my sister! Choose well!Source: Pauline Bible, Pastoral Edition pg. 1485.(*) Author is Writer in Sao Paulo, SP.
