Ascension Of The Lord Jesus - 3

Antoni BigCuore*

Today, through the Catholic Christian liturgy, we celebrate the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord Jesus! His mission in body present here on earth has come to an end. He, by his power, ascends to heaven as had already been announced by the prophets. Mary was taken to heaven by the angels. Jesus is different. He by his own power ascends to heaven.

"Men of Galilee, why are you standing here staring up at the sky? This Jesus, who was taken up into heaven, will come just as you saw him go to heaven. " This phrase was said by "two men dressed in white," probably two angels. The Bible does not say who these two men were.
Before ascending to heaven, Jesus had already warned the disciples that the Holy Spirit, Paraclete, would come to their aid in order to carry out the new mission of evangelizing the whole world. (All the ends of the earth).

Pentecost next Sunday. Fifty days after the Passover of Jesus, when the Holy Spirit comes in the form of a tongue of fire and baptizes in this spirit all the apostles and disciples. That's when, officially, the Church of Christ is born, the church run by Peter.
At Pentecost that really "the record fell" to the Apostles and Disciples of Jesus, and they were then able to UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING what the Master had told them when on mission with them on this earth.

In the Gospel, Luke 24:46, we read: "So it is written, and so it was necessary for Christ to suffer, but to rise again from the dead the third day." Verse 49: "I will send you the Father's Promised One; But remain in the city until you are clothed with the FORCE OF THE HIGH. " (See Bible Ave Maria, study guide, page 1.673).
Brothers and sisters, our mission as Christians continues. The world is there to be re-evangelized. God expects everyone to do his duty. We have to let the fleeting things aside, and devote ourselves more to the things of the kingdom of God. Let's multiply our talents. Let each one discover his vocation, and do some volunteer work in the church in some charitable or philanthropic institution. This is our mission! Evangelize! Bring the good news to every creature. GOD IS GOD, WITH US! HE WILL ALWAYS BE PRESENT IN OUR LIVES. IT IS ENOUGH TO OPEN THE HEART THAT HE WILL ENTER AND MAKE YOUR HOME!

Jesus will never die. He was on a mission in the land determined by the Father, was killed and rose on the third day and ascended to heaven. He left us the Holy Spirit, to encourage us, to protect us; And, above all, to inspire us in the conduct of the destinies of his Church, to the end of the age.
We Christians have a moral duty to IMIT the virtues of the Master Jesus. God is love, who abides in the love of God and God in him, says St. John.
A happy and holy Sunday to all! Peace and good!.
