Gospel Of Palm Sunday, 2.016/03/20

Antoni BigCuore*

Date: 03/19/16, Saturday at 12.12 hours.

econd Gospel - (Luke 23.1 to 49)

In this Sunday, the Catholic Christian liturgy presents us with the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke, chapter 23, verses 1-49.As is too long, we will introduce you briefly to the central idea of it.Jesus before Pilate. 1. "The whole crowd stood up; and led him to Pilate. then they began to accuse him saying, "We found this man subverting our nation, avoiding to pay taxes to Caesar, and claiming to be Christ the King." Pilate asked him, "Are you the King of the Jews?". In response, he said, "Thou sayest."

Later in verse 13 we read, "After holding the heads of the priests and the rulers and the people, Pilate said to them," You me apresentantes this man as an agitator of the people, now, I questioned him before you and I NOT fOUND THIS REASON OF ANY cONDEMNATION MAN, as you accuse. "(italics mine).

In chapter 18 we read: "But they clamor all together:" Die this man !. Release to us Barabbas! ". Crucify him, crucify him, cried the Jews being manipulated by the Jewish elite so what are the Pharisees, scribes and priests Annas and Caiaphas.

A. BIGCUORE´S REFLECTION: Then Jesus is condemned to death and before passing through a process of suffering and flagellation given by Pilate to "wash their hands". Importantly, Pilate's wife liked Jesus and touched by your posts. But, unfortunately, politicians are always afraid of the people and not conflict with it, he decided to deliver Jesus into the hands of his executioners.

In verse 34, to be crucified alongside two thieves, the so-called good and bad thief, Jesus uttered the phrase most spectacular Luke's Gospel when he says: "FATHER, FORGIVE THEM: DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO."

Note clearly the feeling of Compassion of Jesus to his executioners. Even on the cross, after being cruelly scourged, he FORGIVE their enemies !!! This is the essence of Christianity: forgive and be forgiven!

Jesus says to the good thief: "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise" (verse 43).The good thief rebukes the bad thief by their ironic words against him, saying, "What about us is justice; we are paying for our actions; but he did nothing wrong. "(v. 41)

My brothers and sisters in Christ, the legacy of the Master is to be imitated by all of us Christians. Jesus gave us his example. It has always been consistent with the mission that Heavenly Father has entrusted to him, became incarnate within the Virgin Mary, became man and spread the message of LOVE that almost all mankind knows.

"Do unto others what you would have them do unto you." Love your enemies. If you love only those who love you, what credit is that ?. Even the pagans do so.We, on the day, to seek to be better people, who love people who think differently from us; We must be TOLERANT to our fellow men. The individual approach of each Christian CHANGING WORLD !!! Let us think of it as.blessings of health, peace, prosperity, harmony and joy in their hearts and their families !. Shalom !.
