Proclamation of the Gospel (Mk 10.17 to 30)

At that time, when Jesus went out walking, one came running, knelt before him and asked, "Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?"Jesus said, "Why do you call me good? Only God is good, and no one else. Thou knowest the commandments: Thou shalt not kill; not commit adultery; do not steal; not bear false witness; not prejudicarás anyone; honor thy father and thy mother. "

He answered, "Teacher, all these I have observed from my youth."Jesus looked at him with love and said, "Only one thing you lack: go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me! "But when he heard this he was shot and left full of sorrow, he was very rich. Then Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!"

The disciples were amazed with these words, but he said again, "Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God! "They were amazed when they heard it, and asked each other, "Then who can be saved?"Jesus looked at them and said, "With men this is impossible, but not with God. For God all things are possible. "Then Peter began to say to him: "Behold, we have left everything and followed you."Jesus answered, "Truly I tell you, he that hath left house, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children, lands, for my sake and the Gospel will receive a hundred times more now in this life - home, brothers, sisters, mothers and children and lands, with persecutions - and in the world to come, eternal life. " ( 1 )

LECTIO DIVINE - WORD prayerful reading. Elements of the scenario: Rich young burcalho of a needle, accumulation of wealth, for God all things are possible.

The text says that a man knelt before Jesus and asks him he should do to inherit eternal life. The Master does catechesis: observe the commandments of God's law. Do not kill; do not steal; not commit adultery etc.

And the man argued, all that I have ever made. And the Master said to him, One thing you lack. It will sell all of its assets and distribute to the poor, then follow me. The man was sad because he had many possessions! This person was used to ACCUMULATE wealth and what Jesus suggests is SHARE goods, both material and spiritual.

If someone wants to be truly Disciple of Jesus, it is imperative to divest himself of himself in a humble attitude of always seek to share life and all good and also bad that it (life) offers us.

"Jesus proposes to spend for the verb" share ": your life with Jesus (discipleship) and their wealth with the poor. Salvation is a GIFT OF GOD and condividir life with Jesus and with the poor (good news) has its reward in this world and after life everlasting. The option for the poor does not exclude the rich; rich men who autoexcluem not opt for the poor. The inequitable distribution of wealth in the world is a sin "multinational" that every day stacks up to the sky. (Rev. 18.5). ( 2 )

Finally, notice what Jesus promises: who leave your home and your family, for my sake and the Gospel will receive a hundred (100) times more, but with affliction, and the prize of eternal life !!!

TO REFLECT: Share or accumulate selfishly goods ?. What is our choice? Following Jesus, presupposes renunciation of many things of this world. To gain eternal life, it is imperative to have a compassionate heart that drives us to the brother (a) codivir both material goods as spiritual. That come upon you, about your family, about your work or study, the Blessing of the God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit !. Amen!
