Gospel - Luke 14: 7-14
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, that I am gentle and humble in heart!" (Mt 11.29)

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Luke.
14 1 Jesus went to a remarkable Pharisee's house on a Sabbath for a meal; they watched him.

7 And observing how the diners chose the first places, he offered them the following parable:
8 "When you are invited to the wedding, you do not sit in the first place, for it may be that someone else who is more considerate than you is invited,
9 And when the one who invited you comes, tell you, 'Give way to this one.' You would then have the confusion of having to occupy the last place.

10 But when you are invited, it will take the last place, so that when it comes to the one who invited you, it will say to you, 'Friend, go higher. Then you will be honored in the presence of all the guests.
11 For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. "

12 He also said to his guest, "When you give supper, do not invite your friends, your brothers, your relatives, or your rich neighbors. For they in turn will invite you, and they will repay you.
13 But when you give supper, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind.
14 You will be happy because they have nothing to repay you, but you will be repaid in the resurrection of the righteous. "
Word of salvation. ( 1 )

The central idea of this Sunday's Gospel is the word HUMILITY. This word comes from the Latin, "humus, humilis", which we can translate by land.

So a person of humility is one capable of leveling himself with the earth, that is, he is a person, NOT necessarily poor in goods, but has a detached interior; a person stripped of himself, his vanities, his pride and even material goods. A generous, supportive person who puts God first in all that he does. He is a person stripped of self.

Nowadays, vanity, pride, the pursuit of power and riches, make the human heart dull, and in this way it turns away from God and His Kingdom. It seeks to satisfy the ego itself. It seeks status, social symbols that merely aim to EXTERIORIZE one's own personality.

Who has INTIMACY with God, reaches such a degree of humility that not all the gold in the world can sensitize him. He knows that true wisdom comes from a pure, sincere and true heart. A heart in perfect tune with the Heart of Jesus!

Today's first reading says in Ecclesiastical 3: 19-21.30-31: “As you are great you should practice humility, and thus you will find grace before the Lord. Many are lofty and illustrious, but it is to the humble that he reveals his mysteries. ”

CONCLUSION: WHO PLANS HUMILITY, HAPPENS HAPPINESS !!!

A holy and happy Sunday to you and your family! Grace, health and peace in your heart!
