Gospel - Mark 10,17-30

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Mt 5: 3).

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark, 10, 17-30

"At that time, when Jesus went out to set out, someone came running and, kneeling before him, begged him," Good Teacher, what shall I do to have eternal life? "

18 Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? God alone is good.
19 You know the commandments: do not kill; do not commit adultery; no thefts; do not say false testimony; do not commit frauds; honor of father and mother.
20 He answered, "Master, I have observed all this from my youth."

21 Jesus looked at him, loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack, go, sell everything you have and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven, then come and go.
22 And he was grieved with these words, and all was cast down, because he had many goods.
23 Then Jesus looked around and said to his disciples: "How rich will the rich enter into the kingdom of God!"

24 The disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus replied: "Children, how difficult it is to enter into the Kingdom of God those who put their trust in riches!
25 It is easier to pass the camel through the bottom of a needle than to enter the rich in the Kingdom of God.

26 They were even more astonished, saying to themselves, "Who then can be saved?"
27 Looking at Jesus, he said: "To men this is impossible, but not to God, for with God all things are possible.
28 Peter began to say to him, "Behold, we forsake everything and follow you."

29 Jesus answered him. "Verily I say unto you, there is none that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel
30 that in this century he will not receive a hundred times more houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, sons and lands, with persecutions and eternal life in the coming century. Word of Salvation. (1)

A. BIGCUORE´S REFLECTION: The rich young man is anguished before Jesus, and asks him what to do to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The Master tells him, with much wisdom, that him have to PRACTICE THE COMMANDMENTS.

Jesus is naming the commandments of the Law of God by name. What he has responded to has done all that. The Master then responds: "One thing you lack, you will sell all your goods and give them to the poor."

The young man was sad because he had many goods. Later the Master tells the disciples how difficult it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Notice well that Jesus does not condemn property. Every person who fights in life, achieves his goals. What the Master emphasizes is that the most important thing to be his disciple, he has to RENUNATE himself, take up his daily cross and follow it. As Father Roger, of the Song Nova, says in his homily today:

"The Kingdom demands detachment and attachment to a single wealth: the same God. When anyone has difficulty to get rid of what he has or to turn his heart to this unique wealth, he hardly manages to live the Kingdom of God in his life, because he lives constantly with a divided heart, the heart prays here and prays here, and the Kingdom of God is in our midst to take care of our heart "(Portal cn 14.10.18, Homily).

Who then can be saved? Inquire the disciples. To which Jesus emphasizes: "To men this is impossible, but not to God, for GOD ALL IS POSSIBLE" (v. 27).

Jesus promises the CÉTUPLO and eternal life (but with persecutions) for the disciples who are willing to RENOUNCE the goods of this world and to follow it.
The Christian must lead a life of virtue. To seek human, social and, above all, spiritual perfection. This life is very fleeting. We will accumulate goods in the kingdoms of the heavens, for it is there that we were created. Our vocation is heaven!

The secret of happiness is to PARTICIPATE in life, the love we receive from God, through baptism, and share it, above all, with the weakest and most helpless.
Live a life of forgiveness and reconciliation. Forgiveness frees us from the bonds of sin and draws us closer to God. When we are in sin, even our guardian angel walks away. But, by the sacrament of confession, we are again guided to a transcendental position.
To love as Jesus loved is not easy. But if we want to truly be his disciples, however, it is imperative to IMIT the virtues of the Master.

EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE HERE TO CREATE!

Let it come down upon you and all your family, the BENEDICT of the rich God in mercy, He who is Father +, Son + and Holy Spirit. Amen! A happy and holy Sunday to all! Peace and Good!
