The Way To Hapiness

                         Announcement of the Gospel (Mt 5: 1-12a)


At that time, when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up to the mountain and sat down. The disciples came and Jesus began to teach them:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are the afflicted: for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!

Blessed are ye, when they revile you, and persecute you, and say all manner of evil against you for my sake. Rejoice and be glad, for great is your reward in heaven. "

REFLECTION OF A.BIGCUORE: In my modest opinion, this Gospel of the Sermon on the Mount is the synthesis of God's love for us all. It gives the recipe to be happy: DO JUSTICE IN ALL OUR ACTS!

The logic of the world, therefore, of men is very different from the logic of God. The logic of the world is to OWN, it has the greatest quantity of goods possible; accumulate; have a nice bank account; Travel the world; incessantly seek pleasure and social status, etc.

The logic of God is quite different. Although we are beings different from each other, He who wants us to SHARE life; that we are always righteous; that we love one another as though we were brothers in blood.

God also wants us to SHARE the goods with the most fragile of society; May we practice true CHARITY, which is true love! That is, God wants us to practice his love, which has, as a characteristic, the FREEDOM.

God loves us for Love, it may seem like a contrarian, but it is not. The love of God NOTHING REQUIRES IN EXCHANGE. God loves us because He loves us !!! because he created us for happiness. But, sadly, the SIN OF PRIDE, took over the first human beings, and in so doing, the sufferings came to participate in our lives.

That on this Sunday we can meditate on this and eradicate from our hearts the cizania of pride and let fruit the seed of the true Love that we receive at our baptism.
May the blessings of the Almighty God dwell in our hearts! Amen, Amen, Amen !!!
