Gospel - John 20: 19-31

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.

You believed, Thomas, because you saw me. Happy are those who believed without having seen! (Jn 20, 19-31)

____________________________________________________

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to John.

20 19 In the afternoon of the same day, which was the first of the week, the disciples had closed the doors of the place where they were, for fear of the Jews. Jesus came and stood among them. He said to them: "Peace be with you"!

20 That said, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were glad to see the Lord.

21 He said to them again, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, so I also send you."

22 After these words, he blew on them saying to them: "Receive the Holy Spirit.

23 Those to whom you forgive your sins, they will be forgiven; to whomever you retain them, they will be retained ".

24 Thomas, one of the Twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.

25 The other disciples said to him, "We have seen the Lord." But he replied to them: "If I do not see the nails in your hands, and do not put my finger in the place of the nails, and do not put my hand in your side, I will not believe it!"

26 Eight days later, his disciples were again in the same place and Thomas was with them. When the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said:

"May the peace be with you"!

27 Then he said to Thomas, "Insert your finger here, and see my hands. Put your hand on my side. Don't be an unbeliever, but a man of faith."

28 Thomas replied, "My Lord and my God!"

29 Jesus said to him, "You believed because you saw me. Happy are those who believe without having seen!"

30 Jesus did, in the presence of his disciples, many other miracles that are not written in this book.

31 But these were written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that, believing, you may have life in his name.

Word of Salvation.

A.BIGCUORE´S REFLECTION. All the readings of today are beautiful, in which the Holy Church celebrates, THE DAY OF DIVINE MERCY !.

We highlight the following words, from the Gospel above, to nourish our reflection: PEACE BE WITH YOU; JESUS BLOWED ABOUT THEM SAYING, I RECEIVED THE HOLY SPIRIT; MY LORD IS MY GOD!. DON'T BE AWESOME BUT FAITHFUL.

__________________________________________________

First, we understand that the peace of Jesus is very different from the peace of the world. World peace is just a certain interior, ephemeral and volatile homeostasis; the peace that Jesus offers us is a kind of “Shalom” of the Jews. It brings with it the sense of FULLNESS!

The peace of Jesus is that which comes from the Divine Holy Spirit; it is the peace inoculated in our soul when we receive holy Baptism; it is full peace. With him, we receive the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit and its 12 fruits, which the Catechism of the Catholic Church speaks so well to us.

When Jesus blows on the Disciples, they are, in fact, being baptized in the Holy Spirit. The Master gives them the power to administer the seven Sacraments to his followers. Jesus gives them the POWER TO FORGIVE SINS! (“Whatever you connect on earth will be connected in heaven; what you turn OFF on earth will be disconnected in heaven). (This is where the Sacrament of Confession is born, which, unfortunately, our evangelical brothers do not understand!).

In Matthew, 16, 19-20, Jesus says to Peter: “YOU ARE PETER AND ON THIS ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH AND THE GATES OF HELL, THEY WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO WIN IT. WHAT YOU CONNECT ON EARTH WILL BE CONNECTED IN CEUS. WHAT YOU TURN OFF ON EARTH WILL BE TURNED OFF IN CEUS ”.

In this passage we can deduce that the Master "passes the power of attorney" to Peter, to command his Holy Church of Jesus, which later assumed the denomination of Catholic, Apostolic and Roman. (Catholic means universal; apostolic because it was founded on the apostles and Roman because it is commanded by the Pope, whose seat is in Rome, Italy).

“My Lord and my God,” says Thomas, the unbeliever. Even today, there are millions of Thomas on the face of the earth. The Master warns him: HAPPY WHAT THEY BELIEVE, WITHOUT EVER HAVE SEEN!

Faith is a process. It evolves as we immerse ourselves in the things of God. WE MUST BELIEVE AFTER SEE !. When we believe, we are already halfway there.

The first step is to believe, to trust in everything that Master Jesus, bequeathed us. And his inheritance, it is narrated in the Holy Gospels. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to study the Sacred Scriptures in order to understand the Christian faith.

In times of pandemic, people are scared, afraid of the end of the world. Everything will pass, but we need to CONVERT, return to God. Humanity was walking in the wrong direction.

I understand that God gave humanity a “tug of an ear” to see if it converts and goes back to the things of the Kingdom of God.

May the BLESSING of God +, rich in mercy, descend on you and your whole family ...

Easter: Oblation to Father and Men 5

Holy Week, for us Catholic Christians, represents the culmination of our Christian faith. Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus. More than 2,000 years of history that the human being has NOT managed to destroy !. Faith is in the heart of the people. Only God can change his plan.

Unfortunately, our people are more identified with the suffering and death of Jesus (6th Holy Week), so much so that the church is usually filled on Good Friday, than with the Resurrection (Hallelujah Saturday) which is the much more important event. (Easter). It is the victory of life over death!

Easter (pessah) resembles passage. Jews celebrate the passage of the Red Sea when Jews were freed from the shackles of Pharaohs in Ancient Egypt.

As the Bible tells us, more specifically the Old Testament, in chapter 12, verses 1 to 14: “Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt:“ This month will be the main one for you, the first month of the year. So speak to the whole Assembly of Israel: On the 10th of this month, each family will take one animal, one animal for each person. If the family is small for an animal, then it will join with the nearest neighbor to your home. 14 That day will be a memorial to you, for you will celebrate a feast of Yahweh. You will celebrate it as a permanent rite, from generation to generation ”. ( 1 )

Biblically, in Mark 14, 22 - 25, we read: "While they were eating, Jesus took a bread and, having pronounced the blessing, broke it, distributedFor Christians, Easter is much more than the crossing of the Red Sea. IT IS LIFE CHANGE. Change from a sinful life, full of vices, to a life based on the grace of the Lord Jesus !. It is a new life, a life in constant harmony with the word of God and his sacraments, which are SENSITIVE SIGNS OF THE GRACE OF GOD.

Jesus tells us, in the Gospel of Matthew, "seek first the Kingdom of God and his Justice, and everything else will be added to you". Notice that He says: EVERYTHING ELSE !. So, the person who places Jesus, the Son of God, above all, does not need to worry about anything else. Everything else will be added to it. it to them, and said:" Here, this is my body. " Then he took a cup, thanked and gave it to them. And they all drank. And Jesus said to them, “This is my blood, the blood of the covenant, which is shed for many. I assure you: I will never drink the fruit of the vine again, until the day I drink the new wine in the Kingdom of God ”.

Jesus, lived and made his life an OBLATION to the Father and to all humanity. Unstoppable proof of the only true love. Look at the cross, there is the great test! He faithfully fulfilled his mission, to do the Father's will. To die on a cross for the remission of the sins of all mankind!

God's love is authentic and FULL, because it has the mark of GRATUITY! Nothing requires it in return !. Love for love !. He gave it to every creature, with no respect for people. He died for every human creature !!!

My brothers and sisters, let us make Easter a rare opportunity to reconcile with people, especially in the family. Easter is a time of FORGIVENESS and RECONCILIATION !.

There is no use in a hearty table (cod, noble meats, wine, chocolate, etc.), if your heart is "heavy". Let us confess our sins to God and make a firm intention to change our lives. Change, of course, always for the better!

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL HUMAN BEINGS, REGARDLESS OF RELIGION. GOD LOVES ALL OF US! CHRIST RISEN, ALLELUIA !!!

Note que Ele fala: TUDO O MAIS!.

Prova insofismável do único amor verdadeiro.

DEUS AMA A TODOS NÓS! CRISTO RESSUSCITOU, ALELUIA!!!

Domingo de Ramos. A Entrada Triunfal de Jesus em Jerusalém

Antoni BigCuore*

________________________________________________________________

Shalom!.

Sunday of Branches. Jesus Triumphal Entry In Jerusalem (Mark, 15,1-39)

Gospel according to Mark, chapter 15.1-39, which will be proclaimed this Palm Sunday.

“After carrying out the Lenten journey in Community and in our families, we now enter the mystery of Christ's surrender for our love and for our salvation. With Him we walk fearlessly to Calvario, for we are sure of the resurrection. In the radical option of his love-service, love-surrender and faithfulness to the end, we can carry our cross and reach the fullness of life. ” ( 1 )

________________________________________________________________

REFLECTION BY A. BIGCUORE. Jesus is then condemned to death and before going through a whole process of suffering and scourging determined by Pilate that "washes his hands". It is important to note that Pilate's wife liked Jesus and was touched by her messages. But, unfortunately, politicians are always afraid of the people and so as not to conflict with them, they decided to hand Jesus over to their executioners.

In verse 34, of the Gospel according to Luke23, when he was crucified beside two thieves, the so-called good and bad thieves, Jesus pronounced the most spectacular phrase in the Gospel of Luke, when he says: “FATHER, FORGIVE THEM: YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY DO ”.

The feeling of Jesus' COMPASSION towards his executioners is clearly noticeable. Even on the cross, after being cruelly scourged, He FORGIVES his enemies !!! That is the essence of Christianity: forgive and be forgiven!

FORGIVENESS IS THE MOST SUBLIME WAY TO LOVE !!!

Jesus says to the good thief: "Truly I say to you, TODAY you will be with me in Paradise" (verse 43).

The good thief rebukes the bad thief for his ironic words against Jesus, saying: “As for us, it is of justice; we are paying for our actions; but he did no harm. ”(v. 41)

My brothers and sisters in Christ, the legacy of Master JESUS is to be imitated by all of us Christians. Jesus gave us his example. He was always consistent with the mission that Heavenly Father entrusted to him: he became incarnate in the Virgin Mary, became a man and spread the message of LOVE that almost all of humanity knows.

The Pharisees and doctors of the Law, thought that Jesus longed for power. Ledo mistake. Jesus' message is essentially a message of Love. God's love is completely free! This is the great difference in relation to human love. The Israeli power elite did not understand it that way and was afraid of losing their privileges!

"Do to others what you want them to do to you". Love your enemies. If you love only those who love you, what merit is there in that? Even pagans do so.

We have, on a daily basis, to try to be better people, who love people who think differently from us; we must be TOLERANT to our fellow men. The individual attitude of each Christian CHANGES THE WORLD, above all, in these pandemic times. Let's think about it, then !.

Blessings of health, peace, prosperity, harmony and much joy in your hearts and those of your family !. Shalom!.

IT WAS AN ANGEL THAT TALKED TO HIM (Jonh, 12,20-33)

Antoni BigCuore*

Sp.sp. 21.03.2021, Sunday.

Fifth (5) Sunday of Lent. Gospel according to João, 12, 20-33.

The text tells us that there was a group of Greeks who wanted to see Jesus. Philip takes the request to Jesus who says: "The time has come when the Son of Man will be glorified. I assure you: if the grain of the tribe does not fall to the earth and does not die, it remains alone. But if it dies, it produces many whoever is attached to his life will lose it; whoever despises his life in this world will keep it for eternal life "

A. BIGCUORE´S REFLECTION. Jesus makes it clear that, for us Christians, we are aware that our life on this earth is ephemeral!

Whoever spends his life in favor of the Kingdom of God, will gain the blessings of Paradise for his death.

Being a Christian is easy. Now, being a disciple is difficult, however, NOT IMPOSSIBLE!

The disciple is one who radically embodies the teachings of the Master. Imitate the Lord; lives as He lived (super simple life) and, above all, LOVES as He loved.

In this Lent, the process of our CONVERSION is of importance, which must be done daily, because, with this pandemic, God wants to tell us something. What will it be? I imagine it is exactly the INTERIOR CHANGE; changing attitudes towards our fellow man. God wants us to love one another, but in an UNCONDITIONAL way, as it is to be Love for humanity.

My brother and sister in Christ, a question arises: how am I living my life ?. Do you agree with the Kingdom of God or with the life of the world?

May it descend upon you and your entire family, through the intercession of the Immaculate Conception, the blessing of God, rich in mercy, He who is + Father, + Son and + Holy Spirit, amen !!!

ORIGINAL TEXT:

REFLEXÃO A. BIGCUORE.

Quem Nele Crer, Terá a Vida Eterna

Antoni BigCuore*

______________________________________________________________________
