GOSPEL SECOND LUCAS - (21, 5 - 11)
"At that time, some people commented on the Temple which was adorned with beautiful stones and with votive offerings.Jesus said, "Do you wonder these things? Days will come when there will not be one stone left on another. Everything will be destroyed. "But they asked, "Master, when will this be? And what will be the sign that these things are about to happen? "
Jesus answered, "Be careful that you are not deceived, for many will come in my name, saying, 'It is I!' And 'Time is near.' Do not follow these people! When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be terrified. These things must happen first, but the end will not be soon. "And Jesus continued: "One people will rise against another people, one country will attack another country. There will be great earthquakes, famines, and pestilences in many places; Terrible things will happen and great signs will be seen in the sky.
But, before these things happen, you will be arrested and persecuted; Ye shall be delivered into the synagogues and put in prison; Ye shall be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake. This is the time when you will witness your faith.
Make the firm intention not to plan your defense in advance; For I will give you words so right that none of the enemy can resist or rebuke you. You will be delivered even by your own parents, brothers, relatives and friends. And they will kill some of you.All will hate you because of my name. A. BIGCUORE´S REFLECTION: "Luke
describes the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 BC This event marks the
end of the history of the people of the Old Covenant. From now on there
is no longer a separation between Jews and pagans: the people of God of
the New Covenant will be built by people from All the peoples of the earth "(cf. Pauline Bible, pastoral edition, page 1.344, footnote).
It
should be noted that the Old Covenant, made with Abraham, Moses, and
the Prophets of the Old Testament, had the people of Israel as their
chosen people. With the birth of Jesus, the NEW AND ETERNAL ALLIANCE is also born, made by Him and redeemed on the cross. And what does the New Covenant consist of?
Jesus PERFECT the Old Covenant, only that He enlarges and is born now the PEOPLE OF GOD, Israel dexia to be the chosen people. And the KINGDOM OF GOD is for all the peoples of the planet !!!God came to the saints and sinners; For the ungodly and for the heathen. So much so that the Apostle Paul, has the nickname, the Apostle of the
Gentiles, since he preached basically to the Gentiles and their
countrymen.
The text of Luke is eschatological. But this destruction of Jerusalem already occurred in 70 AD, during the Roman Empire.Jesus says: "It is standing firm that you will make a living!"Let us ask God for the gift of Faith and Perseverance, for we do not
know, nor the Angels, only the Father, knows when the end times will be.
WAIT AND PRAY NOT TO FALL INTO TEMPTATION! Says the Master.
The Kingdom of Heaven is a Kingdom in evolution. People die others are born and the Kingdom goes from renewing throughout history. What is important is that every Christian should do his part while he is wandering on this earth!
The challenges of the Christian are daily !. Let
us ask God the Father in Heaven, in the name of Jesus, to give us the
gift of the Faith and to give us also the Eucharistic Bread, in order to
join forces for the sake of His Kingdom. Kingdom of Love, Peace and Joy!
