Biblical Foundation: Luke 1, 39-56
The Catholic Christian liturgy today, Sunday, August 17th of 2014, commemorates the Assumption of Mary into heaven. Mary, according to Christian tradition, was assumed into heaven, body and soul, by the Angels of God. Below, reviews of the booklet, God With Us, the Publisher Shrine of Aparecida, page 74.
"The woman, whose womb was operated in the Son of God, deserved his glorification. Mary, Mother of the Risen Christ was glorified and stands beside Jesus as light to illuminate our path. The Glorious Assumption of Mary confirms the prophecy of singing Magnificat: God works wonders in humble, those who put every confidence in him.
"Today we pray for a vocation to consecrated life and recognize that it is precious to God's gift. Following Christ, responding with intensity to his call, it is a response of love, giving and service to humanity. It is the sign of life and hope and love to the chaste, poor and obedient Christ. "
In the Book of Revelation of John, chapter 12, verse 4, we read: "The dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, ready to devour her Child as soon as it was born from. 5D She gave birth to a son, who came to rule all nations with a rod of iron. But the son was taken up to God and His throne. "
A. BIGCUORE ´S COMMENT: : today's Gospel, Luke 1, brings us to the yes of Mary the Holy Spirit, the famous "Fiat", let it be to me according to his words she responds to the angel Gabriel.
Mary is no goddess but is a SPECIAL WOMAN, chosen by God to birth in your womb the Baby Jesus, the Saviour of mankind: JESUS CHRIST.
When Mary enters the house of Elizabeth (pregnant with John the Baptist), behold, the child leaps in her womb and she prophesies: "Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb! (Jesus). Isabel prophesies saying to Mary: 45.Bem blessed is she who believed it will be fulfilled which the Lord has promised you. "(Luke 1).
Mary then gives the "Magnificat": "46. My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. Yup! Henceforth all generations will call me blessed, for the Almighty has done great things for me. "(Cf. Jerusalem Bible, pg.1.928, Paulus Editora, 1997).
Mary is no goddess, but most of all saints Intercessory with God Heavenly Father. "Calls on the Mother Son meets" says the slogan of the New Song Community of Cachoeira Paulista, São Paulo. I personally have and receive thanks much more than I deserve, by the ever powerful intercession of the Mother of Jesus !!!
Therefore, "All generations will call me blessed" !!! Long live the Mother of God and ours, conceived without sin !.
