Those Who Believe In God Will Have Eternal Life (Jonh,3, 14-21)

This Sunday, we celebrate the fourth Sunday of Lent. The reading of the Gospel is foreseen in John, 3, 14-21). (1)

“... The Son of Man may be raised up, so that all who believe in Him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, so that not everyone who believes in Him may die, but has ETERNAL LIFE. ”(V.15)

19 Now, the judgment is this: LIGHT came into the world, but men preferred darkness to light, because their actions were evil. ”

A. BIGCUORE´S REFLECTION. Just as the serpent was lifted up by Moses, so Jesus was lifted up and killed on a cross.

One can see the prefiguration of the crucifixion of Master Jesus, when Moses makes a rod in the shape of a cross, so that anyone who looks at it would be healed.

Whoever believes in Jesus will never die and have eternal life! God loved the world so much that he sent his Only Begotten Son so that we would know the DIVINE FACE in the Master's human body.

Beautiful this passage narrated by Evangelist John!

It is very clear in the text that the sine qua non condition for obtaining salvation is to BELIEVE in Jesus and become his disciple! The disciple is one who imitates the Master; that embodies its principles and lifestyle. Without Jesus, therefore, there is no “saving faith”.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, without the nourishment of faith that is the foundation of HOPE, we are unable to truly know the Face of God.
