"At that time the Spirit took Jesus into the desert. And He stayed in the desert for forty days, and there he was tempted by Satan. He lived among wild animals, and the ANGELS served him. After John the Baptist was arrested, Jesus went to Galilee. , preaching the Gospel of God and saying: "The time is now over and the Kingdom of God is at hand. I CONVERTED YOU AND BELIEVE IN THE GOSPEL! "

A.BigCuore´s Reflection. In the text above, the desert is configured as an opportunity for us Christians, to dive into ourselves and review our lives.

Where am I putting my hope for salvation? in money? at the job? on my favorite football team?

Like Jesus, we also have our desert moments which we should take advantage of to delve into the Word of God, to be more compassionate towards our fellow men. It is precisely at this time of pandemic, which is also characterized as a desert, that we must pray more, do more charity, be supportive and fraternal in our relationship with each other.

Fasting, prayer, forgiveness and reconciliation must not only be an idea, but we must launch all this into the concreteness of our lives. The Master's exhortation is full of wisdom! If we want to enter Paradise, it is imperative to throw the old man in the trash, as Paulo Apóstolo says, and leave the new man, to take charge of our personality and our heart.
