A word that is in fashion, not only in business jargon, is called RESILIENCE.
The Michaellis dictionary conceptualizes the word resilience, as a feminine noun, with the following meanings:
"1. Phys. Elasticity that makes certain deformed bodies return to their original shape. 2. Fig. Ability to quickly adapt or recover. ”
With the pandemic, people are under strong emotional pressure, leading many of them to contract diseases, such as depression and, above all, ANXIETY.
So it takes a lot of resilience in our personal lives and this can be exercised. In a way, I understand this word as PERSEVERANCE, in the execution of the tasks that we must perform in our day to day.
To live with this “malignant plague”, a lot of prayer, physical exercises (walking, sports, especially swimming) and good nutrition are imperative. As I was raised within the Catholic Christian Church, I learned by doing the “Spiritual Exercises of Santo Inácio de Loiola”, to EDUCATE WILL. Something missing for the new generations that have become "addicted" to the internet and especially the cell phone.
Our “emotional elastic” must be strengthened in this way, educating our will and our ability to readapt to the new reality imposed by the pandemic.
From the perspective, business is no different. Successful companies are those that value their employees, giving them all the working conditions to use CREATIVITY, aiming not only at technological improvement, but encouraging their ability to readapt to the new social reality.
