GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MATTHEW, 18, 15-20

 -

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.

The Lord has reconciled the world in Christ, entrusting his word to us; the word of reconciliation, the word that saves us today (2Cor 5,19).

Proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Mark.

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: 18 15 "If your brother has sinned against you, go and rebuke him between you and him alone; if he hears you, you will have won over your brother.

16 If I don't listen to you, take one or two people with you, so that the whole matter is resolved by the decision of two or three witnesses.

17 If you refuse to hear them, tell the Church. And if you refuse to listen to the Church as well, be it for you as a pagan and a tax collector.

18 Truly I say to you, whatever you connect on earth will be connected in heaven, and whatever you disconnect on earth will also be disconnected in heaven.

19 Let me tell you this: if two of you unite on earth to ask, whatever it may be, they will obtain it from my Father who is in heaven.

20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them ".

Word of Salvation.

“When a brother sins, damaging the common good, the community acts with prudence and justice, seeking to correct the brother. Gathered in the name and in the spirit of Jesus, the community has the same power that was given to Peter (Mt.16,19), that is, to include or exclude people. Her mission, however, does not end with the exclusion of the sinner: she must look for him, like the shepherd who goes in search of the lost sheep (18,11-14). ( 1 )

A. BIGCUORE´S REFLECTION. "For where two or more are gathered in my name, I am among them" (20).

God is a God who always walks with us. Therefore, whenever two or more are gathered in his name, He is together.

God never leaves us. We who, for the sin of pride, turn away from God. The evil one seduces us with the goods of this world. Therein lies the danger for every Christian, to be fascinated by the false chimeras that the consumerist world provides us. Material goods are only instruments that we have to help us on our journey. Therefore, we can never be dominated by them.

The Christian must not lose focus on his salvation, his family and the entire community in which he operates. To live is to share !. We share with the people with whom we must interact, so that they know the Word of God, and become aware that, in this world, we are passing through. Our destination is Paradise !. We were made to live with God! We are your dear children!

Mercy First. In this text, it is clear Jesus, giving the Apostles the power and turning on and off the sins committed by the community. It is also clear the institution of the Sacrament of Confession.

May the BLESSING of God befall You, my brother and my Sister, and in all your family! In the name of + the Father, + the Son and + the Holy Spirit, amen!
