Have you ever conjugated this verb in your life? (I forgive, you forgive ... etc). Definitely yes!. At least at some point in life every person must have done it.
The exercise of forgiveness is really very difficult to practice, but not impossible !.
Within human logic, we are always willing to “pay in kind,” some offense that someone has done to us. Is not it? Our conservation instinct leads us to this. (It's our evil side of personality).
The late PE.Leo, da Canção Nova, in his book Drops of Inner Healing, tells us: “In the exercise of forgiveness it is essential to recognize the need to apologize to those we offend. If forgiving is a difficult art, asking for forgiveness is even harder. If forgiving requires a decision of the heart and will, asking for forgiveness requires repentance. And this is something that we need to learn clearly and practice with persistence. ”
“True repentance, as Jesus taught, implies a change of life. Repentance goes far beyond remorse or shame and has been discovered in your mistake. Shame is the consequence of a fear; Repentance is the result of a decision. Like forgiveness, repentance goes far beyond desire. It is an attitude. ”(1)
The exercise of forgiveness is more heart than reason. Of course we have to have a will, and it depends on our rationality. But the key, too, is to let the child's heart rise in us and quiet and harmonize this feeling within us. Forgiveness from the mouth is easy, but forgiving with soul and heart is very difficult. But, I always say, NOT IMPOSSIBLE !!!
We have to exercise forgiveness, just as love builds over time between two people who love each other.
We have to let go of ourselves !. Changes in small habits in everyday life. If we change the little negative things in us, the bigger change will be much easier. It is a matter of mental attitude.
Forgiveness and forgiveness imply heart conversion and great humility, according to the teachings of the Master Jesus !. Let's look at the example on the cross of Jesus. (By the way, the word comes from the Latin, “humilis”, humus, which means earth. In a way, the humble person is the one who levels himself to the earth, that is, he is aware that life is a gift of God and not we can get carried away by pride.)
He being crucified in the most vile way possible, He on the cross asks the Father to forgive his tormentors, for they did not know what they were doing !!!
We confirm in the Gospel of Luke chapter 23, verses 33 to 34: “When they came to the so-called“ place of the skull, ”they crucified Jesus and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. 34And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them! They don't know what they are doing! ” (my emphasis).
And Jesus, still on the cross, has compassion on the so-called “good thief” who became St. Dimas. Even today you will be with me in Paradise. Note that Jesus DOES NOT SPEAK IN REINCARNATION !!!
Jesus, being God, gave us the example. So who are we to deny forgiveness to our neighbor?
Consciously or unconsciously we will always hurt someone at some point in our lives. Common example of this is detected on the desktop. Ah, especially when a relative of the people dies and when working out the INVENTORY. How much fight, divisions in time to share the "goods" of the deceased! Amaze!
Personal disputes between departments; indoor competitions etc. The important thing is not to let these wounds perpetuate within us. We quickly tried to get rid of them. As? Always forgiving !!! Seventy times seven, says the Master, which, in the language of the Jews, means infinity. (to them, 7 is the number of perfection, of FULL!)
My brother and sister in Christ, to forgive is to GIVE, peace, serenity, light, harmony, prosperity, physical, mental mental health, to the “other” and especially to yourself !.
The inner peace that we will feel when we ask for forgiveness from another (or give our forgiveness) is unimaginable !. It is pure freedom! inner lightness! it is a deep sense of tranquility; It is a true elixir of long life; It improves blood pressure and also improves the liquidity of our neurotransmitters, such as serotonin, dopamine. It even improves our immune system. Science who says !.
Let us confess to God our sins to receive the Holy Eucharist and to feel the resurrection of Christ in our veins!
Here we go???
