Synopsis of the Gospel of Luke, chapter 4, verses 14-22a)

"Jesus then returned to Galilee with the power of the Spirit, and his fame spread throughout the surrounding region. He taught in his synagogues and was glorified by all. "(1)

Then he goes to Nazareth, where he enters the Synagogue and is given the Book of the Prophet Isaiah to read.

"V.18 - The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the poor; he sent me to proclaim the remission to the prisoners and the blind the recovery of sight, to restore the liberty of the oppressed, and to proclaim a year of the Lord's grace. " ( 2 )

Reflection A.BigCuore: It is noted that Jesus, with the power of the Holy Spirit, enters the Temple and, with all his authority, proclaims the Prophecy of Isaiah, concerning himself. So much so that, after the listeners marvel at his reading, they say, perplexed, "Is not Joseph's son?" (V.22).

Look at my brothers and sisters, the prejudice was strong back then. So a simple carpenter's son could not have talent, above all, for the things of God?

The prophet, in his wisdom, clearly defined the mission that the Master would later accomplish. In fact, Isaiah is the greatest of the Old Testament prophets, who most prophesied about Jesus.

All of us as baptized Christians also have the mission to evangelize, to bring the Good News to all those around us. By Baptism, ministered by the Holy Catholic Church, we receive the 7 (seven) gifts of the Holy Spirit, which are: 1. Wisdom. 2. Intelligence. 3. Council. 4. Fortress. 5. Science. 6.Piety. 7. Fear of God. These gifts are the essence of the true Love and Happiness that the human being seeks so much. It's inside him!

The Christian must always be LIGHT radiating and illuminated everything around him. By his good example he is able to raise sheep for the flock of Christ and, consequently, lead them to the salvation that comes from God.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, in the name of your son Jesus Christ, I praise you and bless you for your holy name and I ask you, O Father, give me a firm heart, give me the courage to face, day by day , all the obstacles of life, especially in the spiritual plane. May I reflect upon Your divine light wherever I pass, that all may see and give glory to Your holy Name. Amen!
