GOSPEL SECOND MATEO, 13, 44-52
___________________________________________________________________________
"At that time Jesus said to his disciples:" The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, a man finds it and keeps it hidden. Full of joy, he goes, sells all his goods and buys that field.
The Kingdom of Heaven is also like a buyer looking for precious pearls. When he finds a pearl of great value, he goes, sells all his goods and buys that pearl.
The Kingdom of Heaven is still like a net thrown into the sea and catches fish of all kinds. When it is full, the fishermen pull the net to the beach, sit down and collect the good fish in baskets and throw away those who do not lend.
So it will be at the end of time: the angels will come to separate the wicked from the righteous, and cast the wicked into the furnace of fire. And there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Did you understand all this? "They answered," Yes.
Then Jesus added, "So then the whole teacher of the Law, who becomes a disciple of the Kingdom of Heaven, is like a father of a family who takes from his treasure new and old things.

A. BIGCUORE´S REFLECTION: Jesus, the greatest educator the world has seen, uses parables to explain to his disciples the Kingdom of God in the present case.
The great comparison is with the pearl buyer who, once found, sells everything and buys, knowing his immense value.
In Jesus' time, people were in the habit of burying money and treasure. There are many wars and it was the way people had to maintain their heritage.
The great pearl here, the Master refers to the Kingdom of Heaven. As we know the FE is a PROCESS. Every day, we are discovering the great treasure that is the message of Jesus, for the salvation of all humanity.
As a child, our parents and our catechists teach the message in a pedagogical way so that children can understand.
As an adult, our faith also reaches maturity, or at least must attain it.
We begin to listen, to read, to meditate the Word of God contained in the Sacred Scriptures. Gradually we are evolving, above all, by the sacramental experience, mainly the sacrament of Reconciliation and the Eucharist.
So let's have meetings with Jesus!
There are also other ways of meeting with the Master. In visiting, for example to hospitals, nurseries, asylums, we are going to find Jesus in those places.
Mainly through the practice of Charity, we reach a greater degree of INTIMACY WITH GOD! The closer we get to God, the more our faith is solidifying. It is not enough to go to the Church every Sunday (in the case of Catholic Christians) or even the so-called "evangelicals".
Faith without work is DEATH, says Santiago.
Our faith must always be inserted within the CONCRETE REALITY in which we live. When we meet, we must give the good testimony that Jesus taught us. We must be Christians, twenty-four hours a day!
It's a difficult mission, but NOT impossible! For this we need the Eucharistic sap that the Holy Church offers us every day, on the occasion of Eucharistic celebrations.
The Kingdom must always be in evolution until the end of time!
That descends upon you and all your family, the blessing of the God who is Father +, Son + and Holy Spirit, amen!
