1st Reading - 1st Joe, 5,
14-212nd Reading - Psalm
149Gospel of John, 3, v.
22-30"Then Jesus
went into the region of Judea with his disciples. He was there with them and baptized.
John
also was baptizing in Enon near Salim, where there was enough water.
People
came and were baptized. John had not yet been
arrested. "(Cf. VS. 22-24). (1)
A.BigCuore`s Reflection: Jesus' disciples were arguing with a Jew about purification.
The
Jew was kinda shocked because John the Baptist baptized in another region, while
Jesus was baptizing in Judea.In
verse 28, John the Baptist says, "I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of
him.""V. 30
He must increase and I must decrease. "Concludes John the
Baptist.By
way of illustration, it should be emphasized that John the Baptist was the last
prophet of the Old Testament. "The
greatest born of woman, according to the Master, Jesus."Many
thought that John the Baptist was the Messiah, but he said he baptized with
water, but He that comes baptize you with the "fire of the Holy
Spirit."
John
gives a great testimony to this reading, in the case of the Kingdom of God, the
greatest virtue is HUMILITY!. And he gave his testimony it clearly.
He
recognizes in Jesus the Messiah, the One sent by God to be king in Israel.
And so it is.
Jesus
is the Light of the world, says the Evangelist John who walks in the light, walk
in love, in faith and humility. It will
not, ever, get confused when the Court of God.My
brothers and sisters, we live in that we mainly Christian base communities, we
have to always GOOD EXAMPLE, for the community, in order to be truly DISCIPLES
the Master Jesus! Amen!
