This Sunday, 06.12.20, we will celebrate the 2nd Sunday of Advent, a time of preparation for the coming of the Child.

The Gospel is foreseen in Mark, 1,1-8, below.

Announcement of the Gospel (Mk 1,1-8)

1 Beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Son of God. 2It is written in the book of the prophet Isaiah: “Behold, I send my messenger ahead of you, to prepare your way. 3This is the voice of him who cries in the desert: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make your roads straight!’ ”

4 This is how John the Baptist appeared in the desert, preaching a conversion baptism for the forgiveness of sins. 5The whole region of Judea and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem came to meet him. They confessed their sins and John baptized them in the Jordan River.

6João dressed in camel skin and ate grasshoppers and honey from the field. 7And he preached, saying, “Someone stronger than me will come after me. I'm not even worth bending over to untie your sandals. 8I baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit ”.

A. BIGCUORE.S REFLECTION. The time of Advent is the time to prepare well to receive the Child God: JESUS CHRIST, the Savior of Humanity.

Theologically, it is clear that the Holy Spirit of God is always with us. God Emmanuel, is the God who walks with us always !.

At Christmas, we make your memory and, more than that, it is a time to prepare well with a good confession, thus cleaning the crib from our hearts, to receive the Holy Eucharist, the greatest miracle of love that Jesus left us.

The Prophet speaks of the Precursor, John the Baptist, the last Prophet of the Old Testament, "the greatest born of a woman, according to Jesus". John preached a conversion baptism and Jesus baptized in the Holy Spirit. The text in question, brings us to the idea of the meaning of Baptism.

Through baptism we become members of the great Mystical Body which is the Church. We received the seal on the soul, a kind of stamp, to say that WE ARE MEMBERS OF THE PILGRIM CHURCH. Through baptism we become a creature for CHILDREN OF GOD.

May true love, that which comes from God, be able to make an eternal home in our hearts. Let us reconcile with each other, even if virtual, in view of this pandemic that is plaguing all of humanity. We must always remember that: WHO LOVES FORGIVES. WHO FORGIVES LOVES !!! Without forgiveness, we will be slaves to this burden that makes us unhappy. True forgiveness RELEASE, RELIEF AND BRING HAPPINESS !!!

May the Holy Spirit of God always guide, protect and inspire us daily when making our decisions, whether small or large.

A holy and happy Sunday to all! Grace and peace in hearts!
