Announcement of the Gospel (Jn 3: 16-18) (07.06.2020)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world may be saved by Him. Whoever believes in him is not judged; whoever does not believe, is already judged, because he did not believe in the Name of the only Son of God ”. (conf. A. BIGCUORE´S REFLECTION
This Sunday, in the Catholic Christian liturgy, we commemorate the Most Holy Trinity, or the Community of Love: God the Father the Creator, God the Son, Jesus Christ the verb (logos) incarnate and the Sanctifying Holy Spirit, which means the perpetuation of God's love in humanity . With the ascension of Jesus to the heavens, the Holy Spirit is the one who LIGHTEN, INSPIRES and COMMANDS the whole Church of Christ !. Without this LIGHT the Church would perish.
God did not send his Son to judge the world, but to save him! This is what the Gospel of this Sunday tells us. Believing in Jesus implies not only knowing his Word intellectually, but, above all, putting into practice what He has bequeathed us. Without the practice of Charity, nobody enters heaven. Every Christian MUST practice the WORKS OF MERCY, both Spiritual and Temporal.
In a time of pandemine, in which all humanity is immersed, many needy people are starving, because they lost their jobs, it is necessary that we Christians unite to collect food (basic food baskets) and distribute them to those who need it most at this time. This is CONCRETE WORK of Christian love! If everyone donates a little of his goods, everything multiplies and everyone can eat.
LOVE IS TO SHARE, NOT THE BREAD OF THE WORD, BUT OVERALL, THE BREAD MATERIAL, especially in this difficult moment when all humanity is passing, especially in our country, Brazil.
“The Most Holy Trinity reveals not only the essence of God, but also the essence of the human person. The three divine persons Father, Son and Holy Spirit live among themselves a communion of love so profound that they are one God. Likewise, we, created in the image of God, are called to build love and communion among ourselves ”(cf. Deus nos, Editora Santuário, June / 11, p. 74).
To human eyes, this seems “absurd”, how can it be, three people forming one ?. BUT FOR GOD, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!
I think that God shows us with this that, his creatures or his children, must live in permanent communion with our fellow men.
What caught my attention in the text above, is that many still DOUBT!
Amaze! If some disciples were seeing him up close, in the flesh and doubting, imagine, today, 2,000 years later? Without a doubt, today it is much more difficult to believe in Mestre, than at that time.
Another important thing that sums it up: Jesus exhorts the disciples to teach the Good News of the Gospel to every creature; to all peoples!
This appeal is valid for all of us Christians today. Our mission is to CONTINUE the mission of Master Jesus! So, do our part and do it well. Let us not be spreaders of "fake news", but of "good news". We take advantage of technology to spread the Good News of the Kingdom of God!
Another important thing: “all peoples become my disciples”. There is a lot of pastor out there, which creates dependence on the faithful in relation to his person (pastor) and NOT to Jesus !!! This is to betray the Master and his teachings! There should be no TRADE in religion. It is a gift from God and therefore should not be marketed. Receive for free, give for free, teach the Master!
NO ONE CAN BE HAPPY ALONE
The important thing is that each Christian, within his church, be an authentic Christian who gives, outside the church, his TESTIMONY OF FAITH, LOVE AND CHARITY, when in contact with the outside world.
I always say that when we get to sit on the Throne of God, the first question that He will ask us is: What was your ABILITY TO LOVE?
May this day we can remember this truth and continue to follow Jesus' steps, towards eternity! Amen!
