GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN (6: 1-15)
At that time, 1Jesus went to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, also called Tiberias.2A great multitude followed him, because they saw the miracles which he did on behalf of patients. 3Jesus went up the mountain and sat there with his disciples.4.Coming up next Easter, the feast of the Jews.5.Look up the eyes and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread so that they can eat?"
6. Said it to put it to the test, for he himself knew what he would do.7Filipe said, "Not two hundred silver coins would be enough to give a piece of bread every one."8A of the disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said: 9 "Here is a boy with five barley loaves and two fish. But what is this for so many? "10Jesus said, "Do sit people."
There was much grass in that place, and there sat down, about five thousand men.11Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them to those who were seated as much as they wanted. And they did the same with the fish.12When they were all satisfied, Jesus told his disciples, "Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost!"13.Took the pieces and filled twelve baskets with the leftovers from the five barley loaves, left by those who had eaten. 14Vendo the sign that he had done, the men exclaimed: "This is truly the Prophet, the one who should come into the world."15But when he noticed that they were trying to get him to make him king, Jesus withdrew again, alone, to the mountain.
LECTIO DIVINA - A. BIGCUORE: The Gospel this brings us to the idea of the Eucharistic foreshadowing. The disciples were concerned as well as Jesus, with the crowd who followed, with food material. So multiply the loaves and fishes and serve about five thousand people, which tells us the gospel.
Most important of all, it is we Christians be concerned with the SPIRIT´S BREAD, that is, the Word of God and the Body of Christ contained in the Holy Eucharist, on the occasion of the weekly and Sunday celebrations.
The largest gathering of a Christian with Jesus in the Eucharist takes place !. Equally important is the encounter with Jesus in the Holy Scriptures, especially in their Gospels. Another way to meet Jesus, is on a visit to a patient, especially in hospitals. Helping others, both morally and materially is also a very concrete way to experience the "animus" of Christ.
Without the experience of God, we will not get the Intimacy with Him. To evolve in faith, it is imperative to study daily the Word of God and participate, at least on Sundays from Eucharistic celebrations.
Also bringing the text for today, we note that the problem of world hunger, still very serious. Billion people are undernourished. And the worst shame is in our country, Brazil, a country of continental dimensions and can not end hunger, for lack of political will."Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose as inheritance." (Psalm 33/32: 12). Brazil is in need of conversion, especially of our politicians who can not see one millimeter beyond their own navels !!!
Jesus in this text, carries the essence of his philosophy, namely SHARE goods with everyone! Who has more, donate more, those who have less hurt less. There is no happiness without sharing!God blesses a cheerful giver! Let us be generous and in solidarity with the most vulnerable of our society. Thus, we will be giving our contribution to the enhancement of the Kingdom of God.
Grace and blessings of health, peace, prosperity and joy in their hearts! Amen !.
