GOSPEL OF JOHN, CHAPTER 15, 1-8"The true vine. I am the true vine and my Father is the gardener. Every branch in me that bears no fruit he takes away, and every branch that bears fruit he can, that it may bear more fruit. Now you are pure, because of the word that made you listen.
"4.remain me, as I in you. As the branch can not bear fruit on its own unless it remains in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5.I AM the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him bears much fruit; because without me NOTHING YOU CAN DO.
"6.Se anyone does not abide in me he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; such branches are gathered, thrown into the fire and burned. 7. If remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish and YOU will have the. 8. My Father is glorified when you bring forth much fruit and you become my disciples. "(1)BIGCUORE ANTONI'S REFLECTION: John Evangelist makes use of a beautiful metaphor to explain the need for the Christian to be connected, TUNED with the vine of God through its branches.In Jesus' time, there were many vines in your area. The people of Israel was considered the "VINE PREFERRED God" in the Old Testament. Hence St. John resort to this vine idea to speak of God's love for humanity.
To experience God, it is imperative to be INTIMACY WITH HIM !. And how can it ?. The attentive reader would ask. To get in touch with God, it is necessary, first of all, WANT this to happen; It is first and foremost an act of WILL. I WANT to be friends with God. And being a friend means to know Him. And to know it is necessary to READ AND REFLECT his words contextualized in the Holy Scriptures. Another excellent "instrument" to experience God, is, above all, through the Holy Eucharist. The Living Christ it is and will be absorbed into the bloodstream of who is a follower of the Master.
The disciples were having direct experience with Jesus, the Son of God.But unfortunately "the plug" so came to fall to the disciples at Pentecost, when Jesus ascends to heaven and send them the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit. From Pentecost, the disciples feel like living all the teaching that Master in life, taught them. So much so that the Church of Christ, was officially born at Pentecost. From then on the vine more NEVER stopped FRUITS DAR !!!
The disciples were in groups mirroring for everyone and evangelizing people. To LOVE GOD, you must have a OPEN HEART , AVAILABLE, without censorship, without mental and spiritual barriers. God is always going and knocking on doors of our hearts. He who comes in and makes opening address !.
Contrary, who closes the door of the heart, she goes and does not address this heart. God respects the free will of man. GOD IS LOVE! And your love is so wonderful that is FREE, ie It does not require anything in return. LOVE FOR LOVE humanity. He came to serve; for light and who is the light he gathers. Who loves darkness, will remain in darkness.
He who says, "5.WHO STAYING IN ME AND I HIM PRODUCE MUCH FRUIT; BECAUSE WITHOUT ME, YOU CAN DO NOTHING. "
My brothers and sisters in Christ, we have a great tool to remain in the love of God: Prayer !. It is the fuel of our soul!
