Sunday, May
27, (2012), we celebrate the feast of Pentecost. Penta, fifty days after Easter.
This festival
is of Jewish origin, called Harvest Festival. The number
7 for the Jewish people, is the number of perfection. 7 x 7 = 49 + 1 + 50. Forty-nine days after
Passover, another fifty. It is a symbolic
number. Jesus was praying in the desert 40
days. The
Jewish people was 40 years in the desert etc..
Jesus
promised his disciples before his ascension into heaven, which would send the
Paraclete or Advocate, the Holy Spirit, that they had the power, light, to
continue his Church. And so it
was done!.In the
Gospel of John 20, verses 21-23, He says, "Peace be with you. As the Father sent me, so I send you.
Having
said this, he breathed on them, saying: "Receive the Holy Spirit. The sins of those you
forgive will be forgiven. The sins
of those that you do not forgive, will not be forgiven. " (1)A
Feast for Catholic Christians, the day is almost "official," the foundation of
the church of our Lord Jesus Christ, THE CHURCH Petrina. View
and meditate, chapter 2, verses 1 13 of the Acts of the
Apostles.
0.1. Guided by the Holy
Spirit Church.
So
says the Catechism of the Catholic Church in canon 767: "After the work the
Father had entrusted to the Son to do on earth, sent the Holy Spirit at
Pentecost to sanctify the church permanently." It was then that the "church
public
comment before the crowd and began to spread the Gospel through preaching.
"Being
"convocation" of all men to salvation, the Church is by its very nature
missionary sent by Christ to all people to make them disciples. To
accomplish the mission, the Holy Spirit "equips and directs the church through
the various hierarchical and charismatic gifts."Therefore,
the Church enriched with the gifts of its Founder and endeavoring to faithfully
observe His precepts of charity, humility and selflessness, given the mission of
proclaiming the kingdom of Christ and of God and establish them in all people;
it
is this kingdom on earth the seed and beginning ".
0.2. Mystical Body of Christ
Church.
There
is much confusion in the minds of the people regarding the concept of church.
The concept
that I find most beautiful is the Body of Christ. The
church as the mystical body of Christ, is incorruptible, infallible, perfect in
every way!. Paul
in his letter to the Corinthians 1, Chapter 12, it compares the Church as a body
in which Christ is the head. Each
member has a job very well defined in this church.
0.3. Church
Hierarchy
Opponents criticize
the church for its rigid structure. But,
between us, in every organization there are flaws, just imagine if there was no
hierarchy?Pope,
bishops and priests, all united in a single ideal: the ideal of Jesus Christ,
the ideal of the Kingdom of God! The
ideal of evangelization as Jesus advocated.
0.4. Visible Church.
Church, not the brick
and clay, but all the people. The people of God in our
earthly pilgrimage. This is the
visible church. Church Walk into the
sky!Conclusion:
The most important of all, you follow, day by day, in the footsteps of Jesus and
His commandments. All he
left, comes down to love one EACH OTHER AS I LOVED YOU!. This
is the largest law She sums up the true love of God for us, their
children.
Read
and meditate on the Bible, especially the New Testament, consisting of the
gospels, the apostolic letters and apocalypse. And, most difficult to put
all this in practice. It
is difficult but not impossible!. Start
slowly, setting small goals, and over time, gradually increase it until reaching
the ideal.
And above all, the sacramental life.
The sacraments
are the foundation of the church of Christ. Above
all, confession (reconciliation) and the Holy Eucharist. The master
says: "I am the living bread come down from heaven. WHO EAT THIS BREAD WILL
LIVE FOREVER. "That's
what I had to offer them for your consideration.
A Holy Sunday at all (as) and that the Holy Spirit of God, of heaven always send
them in profusion, their largesse, protecting them in the name of the Father,
Son and Spirit Santo.Amém!
