GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LUCAS - LUKE, 1,39-56

                                                   Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.

MARY IS RAISED TO HEAVEN, THE CHORUS OF ANGELS ARE JOYED !!!

Today, in the Catholic Christian liturgy we commemorate the assumption of Mary Most Holy to Heaven. Mary was taken to heaven by the Angels, contrary to her Son Jesus who, with her own power, ascended to Heaven.

Proclamation of the Holy Gospel, according to Luke, 1, 39-45:

“1 39In those days, Mary got up and hurriedly went to the mountains, to a city in Judah.

40He went into Zacharias' house and greeted Isabel.

41Now, only Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the child shuddered in her bosom; and Isabel was filled with the Holy Spirit.

42And he exclaimed with a loud voice, "Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb.

43Where does this honor come to me from the mother of my Lord?

44For as soon as the voice of your greeting reached my ears, the child trembled with joy in my bosom.

45 Blessed are you who believed, for the things that the Lord has said to you will be fulfilled! "

46And Mary said, "My soul glorifies the Lord,

47my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

Because he looked at his poor servant. For this reason, from now on, all generations will proclaim me blessed,

49for he has done wonders in me who is mighty and whose name is holy.

50His mercy extends from generation to generation to those who fear him.

51Manifested the power of his arm: it upset the hearts of the proud.

52 He overthrew the mighty from the throne and exalted the humble.

53 He left the destitute with goods and dismissed the rich empty-handed.

54He took his servant Israel, remembered of his mercy,

55as promised to our fathers, in favor of Abraham and his posterity, forever.

56Maria stayed with Isabel for about three months. Then he came home ".

Word of Salvation. Glory to you, Lord! ( 1 )

A. BIGCUORE´S REFLECTION. The text on screen, represents one of the most beautiful of the Sacred Scriptures !. Two women who meet and change religious history in the world. Maria goes to the ENCOUNTER of Isabel, her relative to show solidarity with her, who was pregnant with João Batista, the precursor. And this prophesying says: "42 ..." Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb. "

43Where does this honor come to me from the mother of my Lord?

How did Isabel know that Mary carried the Child (God) Jesus in her womb?

It was through ACTION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT that Isabel makes this prophetic statement! And she had intimacy with Him (Holy Spirit), since, certainly, she had the GIFT OF SCIENCE, given by the same Spirit.

Many “charismatic” theologians interpret that when Mary greets Isabel, and the boy João Batista, vibrates in her womb, at this moment, he receives the BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.

MARY IS THE FIRST CHRISTIAN AND FIRST DISCIPLE OF HER SON JESUS! It was formed in the heart of God, before the creation of the world! A simple, humble young woman, but with a very pure and very rich heart of the things of God the Father!

Maria's “fiat” (make yourself) changed the destinies of all mankind! “Blessed are You who believed” (v.45).

Mary is not a goddess, but below the Holy Trinity, within the Catholic Christian hierarchy, She is the first. She is the Co-Redeemer of humanity and intercedes for us, poor sinners.

“Do whatever He tells you”, she says these words, at the Wedding at Cana, when Jesus performs his first miracle (Jo, 2,5).

Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, pray incessantly for us, poor sinners of this land !!!

As Fr. Nilo Nuzza, ssp, says, “Happy are the families, whose mothers are in solidarity with each other, through mutual help. Happy are the communities that have Christ's disciples filled with the Holy Spirit and bearers of life and hope, blessed women who welcome the Word, transmit faith and optimism and believe in a better world. ”(2)
