"The origin of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, was thus: Mary, his Mother, was betrothed to Joseph, and, before they lived together, she became pregnant by the ACTION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Denounce Maria and, thought of leaving her, without anyone knowing.
While Joseph was thinking about this, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to receive Mary as a wife, because she conceived by the ACTION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. You will name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. "
All this happened to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son: and he shall be called by the name of Immanuel, which is to say, God is with us."
When he awoke, Joseph did as the Angel of the Lord had commanded: he took Mary home, and without having intercourse with her, she bore a son. And Joseph gave him the NAME OF JESUS "(cf. Pauline Bible, pastoral edition, page 1,239)

A. BIGCUORE'S REFLECTION: I can imagine the anguish, and doubts of Joseph when he learned that Mary was pregnant. By the Law of Moses, Mary would be stoned in a public square! But the Angel of the Lord appears to him in a dream, and calms his spirit, saying that it was by the ACTION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT that his wife became pregnant.
Then he calms down and does as the Angel had told him.
The yes of Mary, "let it be done unto me, according to thy word," has changed the whole history of mankind. Immanuel, God WITH US, comes to save mankind, not just the People of Israel, from their sins.
Jesus (that is, God saves) inaugurates a NEW ETERNAL ALLIANCE** with humanity, constituting his church, as recorded in Matthew 16: 13-20: "Simon Peter answered," You are the Messiah, the son of the living God "
"I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build MY CHURCH**, and the power of death will NEVER overpower you. I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and what you bind on earth Will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. "
And so it was done. Jesus, unfortunately, came in principle to the People of Israel, but this one disowned him. Subsequently, it adopts as its mission the evangelization of all humanity, especially the pagans.
God IS ALWAYS WITH US! Historically, Jesus died and was resurrected only once. But on December 25, we CELEBRATED, making the MEMORY of the whole history of salvation!
That this Christmas, we can reflect on all this and CONVERTER OUR HEART FOR GOD BOY !!!
May mankind be able to CHANGE LIFE and think of our brothers and sisters who have no roof to live in; Have no food or drink to survive, above all, the victims of the bloody wars driven by the ambitions of the Great Powers!
